Core23 Biobank specializes as an umbilical cord stem cell company, providing services most commonly referred to as “cord blood banking” and it’s our honor and privilege to be able to give back to students by offering this scholarship opportunity.

We invite you to submit an essay detailing – What makes a great umbilical cord stem cell company and what suggestions can you make to improve the industry?

Essays should be 1,500-2,500 words and should remain related to the prompt. Winners of this essay scholarship will receive $500. The essays will be judged and winners chosen based upon their reasoning and explanation.

Academic standing, financial need, and volunteer work will also be considered. Core23 Biobank hopes this scholarship will help further those who are seeking to enter the stem cell therapy industry.

Award Eligibility

The Scholarship is offered once each year during the Fall semester. This essay contest is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are 18-years-old or older and for anyone looking to enroll in a college or university located withing the United States or are currently enrolled in a college or university located within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. U.S. territories are excluded.

Previous first place winners are not eligible for participation.

Essay Length & Format

  • Your essay must be nor fewer than 1,500 and no more than 3,500 words in length.
  • MLA formatting is preferred but not required.
  • Submissions are requested in PDF format but other formats will be accepted.

Evaluation Process

  • Essays will be evaluated by several Core23 Biobank executive team members. Submissions are reviewed from multiple professional specialties and backgrounds.
  • Submissions will be evaluated on content, the correctness of facts, grammar, style, and originality.
  • The panel will look for clear, original writing that is organized and well-supported.
